Roxanne pours her passion into a variety of studies and artistic expressions.
Music: Driven by a strong desire to learn more of the world at large as well as to enrichen the lives of those around her, she works full-time as a traveling singer, musician and dancer both solo and with her world music band, Wine and Alchemy. She is also in the midst of branching out with her Celtic project Torragar.
Roxanne's solo project brings her love of Celtic ballads to the stage along with traditional Eastern European songs to take the listener on a musical journey of emotion.
Dance: Having trained in many styles of Middle Eastern Dance over the years, Roxanne's unique style of World Fusion Belly Dance is colored by her multi-cultural studies and includes stunt props like double sword and double veil.
In addition to dance performance with Wine and Alchemy and as a soloist for special events, Roxanne offers workshops and private lessons in a variety of dance topics.
Roxanne holds a BA in Theater (as well as BA's in English and Philosophy) from the University of Michigan- Flint and has helped to develop and run children's theater programs for summer camps.
Having studied Shakespeare and European Folklore in depth at the college level, she brings a unique perspective to the aesthetic of her performances and believes that theatrical expression and storytelling are indispensable to the educational experiences of young people.
Roxanne has a strong background in academic writing, play writing, fiction writing and technical writing.
Her latest works include a growing collection of Fairy Tales based in a folkloric storytelling style but with morals pertinent to our modern society.
Traveling for a living, Roxanne has crossed the US several times a year since 2008 and traveled in western Europe during her academic studies abroad in 2002.
Roxanne started studying visual art at a young age thanks to her mother, Peggy, who is an accomplished portrait and landscape artist as well as a graphic designer. Roxanne currently indulges in small painting and design projects in her free time.
